Originating in Finland and Switzerland, sauna therapy is a primary method of reducing anxiety and stress, while promoting relaxation, contentment, and peace of mind for centuries. Additional benefits of the dry heat sauna include muscle relaxation, detoxification and glowing healthy skin. At the Y, men and women have a sauna in either locker room, where only 18 years and older are allowed. This allows for a private space for reflection and the occasional social connection.
