REGISTRATION OPEN NOW FOR SUMMER 2012
When school’s out, the Stamford Family YMCA is here to keep kids safe and engaged in fun, healthy activities. Our summer Camp WOW program focuses on age appropriate physical activity and fostering positive social interactions. Our trained staff members offer the highest quality instruction and supervision at Camp WOW.
Campers participate in a wide range of sports and activities including: instructional swimming, dance & drama, music instruction, field trips, arts & crafts, weekly themed days, environmental science, character development activities and new adventures. To create balance, our recreational reading component is designed as an integral part of this program to help kids sharpen their reading skills throughout the summer months.
Camp Wow is open to children grades pre-K to 5th grade (click here for information on Teen Adventure Camp)
Children must be entering kindergarten in September 2012. All children in Camp WOW MUST BE POTTY TRAINED.
Hours are 9am - 4pm, with extended hours available from 7:30am until 6pm. Pre-registration is required. Click here for the registration packet.
WHAT DOES CAMP WOW LOOK LIKE?
The Camp WOW day consists of six periods, each 45 minutes long. Every day groups swim twice and enjoy specials; such as, art and crafts, karate, courts, nature, outdoor adventure, dance, and athletics. Every activity is planned and instructed by specialists.
Camp WOW is a great experience that helps develop independence and proper decision-making skills, boosts self-confidence and allows children to learn about themselves while engaging in activities not found in their typical school day. Every camper is encouraged to develop new skills and grow mentally, emotionally, socially and physically.
Summer Camp Wow has a Zero Tolerance Policy on Bullying.
