Where Lives Change
Our Mission, Vision, and The Future
Since 1866, the Stamford Family YMCA has made its mission to provide the community with a safe nurturing environment for children and teens to reach their potential; adults to create healthier lifestyles; and neighbors to support each other and give back to the community.
Bringing the Community Together
Each year, the Stamford Family YMCA has welcomed over 2,000 members and another 3,500 community members to use its facility. These include:
- Our swim team participants
- Summer Campers
- Fitness enthusiasts
We believe that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, should have the opportunity to achieve their potential through our programs and services, and we never want anyone to be turned away for an inability to pay.
Programs that make a difference
Our programs are offered in our facility or around the community, expanding our reach. Our Y is open 7 days a week beginning at 5AM to facilitate the needs of our members and community.
For Our Youth
We believe every child deserves a positive environment they can thrive in to improve their physical fitness / self-esteem / self-confidence. We offer programs, including:
- The LEAD After School Program
- Summer Camp
- Various sports, dance, and fitness classes
For Our Adults
Physical fitness and nutrition is important at any ace, which entails:
- Exercise and Aquatic programs
- Fitness consultations
- Nutrition programs
- Sports leagues

It’s all thanks to you, our donors
Through your funding, we are able to continue our mission of encouraging youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Thanks to your charitable donations, the Stamford Family YMCA can expand the LEAD After School program, summer camps, and early childhood classes, and provide more space for the growing needs of our community.
