Our Mission, Vision, and The Future

Since 1868, the Stamford Family YMCA has made its mission to provide the community with a safe nurturing environment for children and teens to reach their potential; adults to create healthier lifestyles; and neighbors to support each other and give back to the community.

Bringing the Community Together

Each year, the Stamford Family YMCA has welcomed over 2,000 members and another 3,500 community members to use its facility.

These include:

  • Our swim team participants
  • Summer Campers
  • Fitness enthusiasts

We believe that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, should have the opportunity to achieve their potential through our programs and services, and we never want anyone to be turned away for an inability to pay.

Our Community

It’s always important to give back to the community that gives to you. To bring the community together, we promote member-to-member mentorship programs and encourage our teens to perform at least 30 hours of community service each year through the United Way Project or Teen Soup Kitchen volunteering.
